Inspired by the popular New Orleans Chocolate shop, Blue Frog Chocolates and it’s Legend of the Blue Frog (HERE), the new book by Las Casas and Stone-Baker is a beautifully illustrated and crafty tale of everyone’s favorite treat: chocolate! Says the book’s publisher,

“Every day, Sun God enjoys rich cacao beans, grown from the cacao trees on the banks of the Great Pond. Wind God encourages him to share with the people of the earth, but Sun God refuses. So Wind God transforms into a rana azul, a blue frog, and spies on the Sun God.
When Wind God discovers where the greedy God hides his stash of chocolate delights, he tells los niños from the village. The Aztec people search for the treasure and soon discover the secret food of the Gods, the cacao bean. This vividly illustrated book, inspired by Mayan and Aztec art, comes complete with a recipe for hot cocoa. ¡Delicioso!”

Tina Ragas

In Tina's NOLA animal series, she uses bright and colorful backgrounds to set the tone of lightheartedness and match the subject's personality. These whimsical pictures of animals with their metal fleur de lis pendants on their collars remind us of how proud we all are to be in New Orleans. They seem to be just as proud to wear the symbol of the city and to live here as much as we are. They bring a little joy to our lives in times of heartache after Katrina.

Ann Isham's book signing:

Eat Choclate - Lose Weight

The Chocoholic's Survival Guide and Practical Handbook.

Chocolate Book Author Comes to Blue Frog Chocolates

Saturday 12/18 from 2 – 4 pm

Learn how to “have your chocolate and eat it, too!”

Anne S. Isham, the author of a luscious new book about the wonders of chocolate, Eat Chocolate Lose Weight: The Chocoholic’s Survival Guide and Practical Handbook, will be at Blue Frog Chocolates, 5707 Magazine St. from on Saturday 12/18 from 2 – 4 pm to discuss her favorite subject, CHOCOLATE, its health benefits and enduring allure, and sign copies of her recently published book.

Anne S. Isham is an independent chocolatier whose research into one of the world’s most beloved foods led her to conclude that fine
chocolate is an essential component of good nutrition. Focused on a goal of optimal health and fitness, she translates a maze of ingredient labels for the amateur chocolate consumer and makes helpful suggestions concerning such things as serving size, monitoring carbohydrates and fats, and exercise. The Texas author summarized her latest work this way, “It’s really a lifestyle book. It’s about how to morph yourself from an out-of-control, indiscriminate chocoholic into a sleek, svelte, sophisticated connoisseur of fine chocolate.”

Hop on in to Blue Frog Chocolates, from 2 – 4pm, on Saturday December 18th, and meet Anne!
