About the Author and Illustrator Dianne de Las Casas, a local resident and an award-winning author, recording artist, and storyteller, has earned rave reviews from professionals and families alike. She regularly performs and speaks at schools, libraries, festivals, as well as events like national and state library and education conferences. Others works by Dianne include The Cajun Cornbread Boy, Madame Poulet and Monsieur Roach, Mama’s Bayou, The Gigantic Sweet Potato, and There’s a Dragon in the Library . Holly Stone-Barker is a graduate from the Pratt Institute in New York City, and known as a is a cut-paper and collage artist as well as an illustrator. A former teacher, she has experience working for various design firms creating logos, coloring books, and magazine covers. She enjoys experimenting with new artistic media, which she tries to incorporate into a style that coincides with her love of cut paper and visual texture. Other works illustrated by Holly in collaboration with Dianne include The House that Witchy Built, and Mam’s Bayou. Holly and her family live in Zachary, Louisiana. |
